USDA To Offer New HBIIP Grants

Grant Money for Station Owners to Upgrade Infrastructure Coming Soon: We Can Help.

USDA has announced a new round of grants in 2022 under the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP. In its inaugural run in 2020, HBIIP made $86 million available to station owners to cover 50 percent (not to exceed $5 million) of costs to upgrade fueling infrastructure to accommodate higher blends of ethanol.

The HBIIP program was designed “to increase significantly the sale and use of higher blends of ethanol and biodiesel by expanding the infrastructure for renewable fuels derived from U.S. agricultural products,” according to USDA.

The application process is a bit involved, but at Flex Forward we can help. It’s basically free money for your station — the main cost to you is putting in the time and effort to get it.

We expect another round of as much as $86 million in grant money to become available this summer to vehicle fueling facilities, including, but not limited to, local fueling stations/locations, convenience stores, hypermarket fueling stations, fleet facilities, fuel terminal operations, midstream partners and/or distribution facilities.
